The Airport history

The airport history started within the 40th of the last century when the American Bayn Field air-force base was constructed 5 km far away from Almaza Airport to serve the Alliance during World War ||. The American forces abandoned the base by the end of the war.
Later on, The Civil Aviation Authority took over the base and allocated it to the International Civil Aviation. In1945, The Airport was named after King Farouk and became “King Farouk 1st Airport”. In the meantime, Almaza Airport was allocated to domestic flights.

The airport consists of 3 terminals and offers numerous facilities as you can see a bank and ATMs; 24-hour bureaux de change and post services are located in the Departures hall in both terminals.
